Molecular Distillation

Molecular distillation is a special liquid-liquid separation technology that operates under extremely high vacuum. It achieves the purpose of separation according to the physical characteristics of different molecular motions of different substances with different mean free paths. The liquid will be separated below the boiling point. It is especially suitable for the separation of high boiling point, heat sensitive and easy-to-oxidize systems. Because its boiling point is lower than the distillation temperature of the material, the distillation pressure is reduced, the heating time is short, and the high degree of separation is high, which can greatly reduce the separation cost of high boiling point materials and protect the quality of sensitive materials. The working process of Molecular Distillation Equipment


Feed material is delivered from a feed flask into the main jacketed evaporator, having heating frompei the jacket, and a diagonally slotted wiper mechanism forcing liquid around and downward in a thin film on the inside. 
In the center of the body is a closely positioned internal condenser, providing a short path for vapor molecules traveling from the heated surface to the condenser surface. 
During the journey downward, lighter (lower boiling point) fractions of the liquid begin to vaporize, move to the internal condenser and condense, falling down as a liquid into a well that captures and separates the distilled liquid which flows into the Distillate receiving flask. 
Heavier residue material (like chlorophyll, salts, sugars, heavy wax) does not evaporate and instead travels the length of the main evaporator body and flows into the Residue receiving flask.


Advantages of Molecular Distillation Equipment


1. Short feed time The rotating scrubber pushes the material to the heating surface. The liquid of the material is carefully twisted and dropped and leaves the heating surface. The material falling off the heating surface is cooled and quickly gathered by the condenser. This method should limit the contact time of the material and the surface insulation .   
2. Low evaporation temperature Under high vacuum conditions, the short-distance distillation equipment is assembled through a material-liquid distributor and a scrubber, so that the materials are evenly distributed on the heating surface, and the weight of the materials delivered to the static liquid surface is reduced. The vapor will be dense in discrete condensers, and the liquid will be removed as a large amount of material or sent to the relevant stage. This strategy is an experienced warming technology with the least amount of decay and the highest quality.   
3. No need to spray The short path of molecular distillation is the free evaporation from the outside of the liquid layer, which is transferred to a low weight. Since there is no separated air in the liquid, all liquids are impermeable during the distillation process, so there is no need for spraying.

5.
